What you’ll need
Every fabric, ink, and glue is different. Test on a hidden spot, go slow, and know that removal can damage an item.

Written steps
- Grab a seam ripper, curved embroidery scissors, and tweezers. Plan on 30 minutes or more.
- Turn the item inside out. You’ll see the back of the stitches, sometimes with a stiff backing sheet.
- Run the seam ripper under the back stitches in small sections to cut them. Go slowly so you don’t cut the fabric.
- Turn it right side out and pull the loosened top threads with tweezers. Peel away any backing from the inside.
- Brush the area with a soft brush or your fingers, then wash it. Small needle holes usually close up after a wash or two.
Big or very dense logo? Removal can take a long time and may leave visible holes. Covering it with a patch is often the better choice.
